Hey Friends!

Ya, ya, ya....I know we've gone dark for quite some time now, BUT, in our defense Tier has been very busy practicing her walk down the aisle and I've been planning my walk down the aisle to marry my best friend! It's been quite a journey but, we have almost every big thing planned, only thing left is the DJ and the guys tuxes. Pretty good, considering we're still 4 months away from the big day!

Tier has been very busy as of late getting ready for the big day! She has been taken on numerous walks around the neighborhood and after runs in order to get her ready to walk like a behaved, non-crazy dog on August 29! We are also hoping that with a bit of training she won't drag Logan, the boy walking her, into the brook behind our ceremony space the day of the wedding! Considering her progress, it is still very much up in the air as to whether Logan should wear running shorts or swim trunks the day of.....fingers crossed he can put the running shorts on with confidence!!!

Last time we wrote, Tierney had just been offered the job of a lifetime.....well, she has some more BIG news!!! In October, the Shep will be packing up her bags, her Lana and her cat and heading out with her humans to the big ol' state of TEXAS!!!! Yep, you read that correctly, Tierney is moving to the Lone Star State.....WAHOO!!! The first month or so Tier, along with the rest of us, will be living with her grandparents Di-Di and Pop Pop, as well as her new best friend Tony (he doesn't know they're best friends but he will soon enough)! She will also get to meet, and hopefully spend a lot of time, with three other new best friends Olivia, Oliver and Ati....Tier's aunt and uncle's dogs.  She is going to have the time of her life!

Once we get down there, we will be shopping for a new house for Tier! We are hoping to find a place with a massive backyard to give her more room to run and in a neighborhood with understanding neighbors! In our current house she doesn't have nearly as much room to run as she would like and the neighbors are very unsupportive of Tier's need to tell the world each morning that she's a German Shepherd! Unfortunately, Tiers received a letter from the HOA a few weeks back stating that she must curtail her barking by April 18 due to an anonymous complaint. Apparently one of our neighbors already knows she's a German Shepherd and feels the constant reminders are overkill on Tierney's part!

Tier is currently working on a letter back to the HOA explaining the misunderstanding and explaining that she must constantly remind the neighbor dogs that she is, in fact, a German Shepherd because they keep accusing her of being a Black Lab.  Not that being a Black Lab is a bad thing but considering Labs are from England and she is from Germany, she feels that one must not get confused about one's background! Plus, her mom is VERY Irish and we all know what the Irish think about the English! ;) But, no matter the outcome, she will be moving in about 6 months so, if nothing else, the neighbors will just have to deal with her morning rantings about her German heritage!

On a side note, Tier and Lana have been making tremendous headway with "The Cat" as Andrew calls her! Nietz has taken quite a long time to get over the loss of her favorite dog Brear but has finally accepted Lana and Tier as her new protectors. In fact, Nietz has even been caught sleeping next to Tier on the dog bed and helping fight crime from the window with Lana.....

We are happy the friendships are moving along so well and hope to start training Tier to track Nietz as Nietz has recently developed a need to wander around the neighborhood but has yet to develop her ability to remember where she lives! Cats these days!?

On another side note, it has recently gotten warm here in Colorado and thus hiking season has begun! Tier and Lana went on the first hike of the season and had a blast! We took them up to Horsetooth on Easter Sunday and let them play in the falls.

The girls pumped to head up to the mountains with their
best friend Quinny!
After hiking we went to Tier and Lana's grandparents house for an Easter egg hunt and lots of delicious food! It was a great Easter!

Alright friends, I think that's enough news for now! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and are having a great spring! Please keep your fingers crossed that Tier's training goes as planned and Logan won't end up a fish in the brook! Have a wonderful week! And, to that big beautiful Shepherd in the sky, "I think about you often, your'e never far from my mind! I miss you and wish you had gotten the chance to know Andrew and Lana, if even for a second! But, I am continually thankful for the time I got with you and for your wonderful gift of Tier that you not only blessed me but blessed Andrew, Lana and Nietz with, as well! I love you sweet girl!!!!"
